GENERAL
What is Oomble?
Oomble is service that you can use to deliver the photos, audio, and videos that you share on your web page or site to your visitors’ cell phones. Whether you have your own blog, MySpace page, Facebook account, fan site, online photo account or manage a professional web site, you simply place an “Oomble This” link (see below) on your web page or site. That is it! There is nothing else to do. If you want, you can then tell us whether you’d like to charge your visitors a price to deliver your content to their cell phones. We will take care of charging them and we start sending you checks when people start buying your content. If you have some cool photos, music or videos that visitors to your web site or page might want on their cell phones (for example, as a cell phone wallpaper or a ringtone), you really should give Oomble a try. We like to refer to this as “Oomblizing” your web site. For more information on how to Oomblize your web site or page, please visit our Oomblize tab
Additionally, if you also like getting the latest and coolest images, ringtones, songs, podcasts or videos from the web onto your own cell phone, please do sign up for a free user account at Oomble. Your free account provides you access to our “Site Wrapper” technology, where you can simply browse the entire web through the Oomble Site Wrapper browser and “mobilize” anything that you see on the web! There is no longer a need to find and go to a specific cell phone site to look for cell phone wallpapers, ringtones or video. Just surf the web the way you normally do (with Google or whatever) and once you find something you like, drag it into your phone using Oomble. We’ll also provide you with your own free personal WAP site that you can customize with your personal content and content you find through the Oomble Site Wrapper browser and access through your cell phone’s WAP browser. For a small subscription fee, our power account provides you the ability to further mobilize your own personal content and offers a number of other cool mobilization services (music storage, notes, maps, etc.).
How Much Does Oomble Cost?
Signing up for an Oomble user account is absolutely free. Please keep in mind, however, that if you choose to mobilize content you find on the web through Oomble, we do transmit SMS messages to your cell phone and provide you access to content through your cell phone WAP browser, which may require you to have access to your carrier’s data network. Due to our use of SMS and the data network, your use of Oomble may result in increased charges from your wireless carrier , your carrier's normal messaging, data and other rates and fees will apply (we do recommend that you obtain an unlimited data plan from your carrier). In addition, if you purchase mobilized content at an “Oomblized” web site, this amount will appear on your cell phone monthly bill. Our power account for users costs $3 per month.
Oomblizing your site and putting an Oomble link on your web page or site is also free. If you want to charge visitors a fee when they mobilize your content, we will split the proceeds (i.e., approximately 50% of the price of an item goes to our aggregator and the carriers and we will split the rest 50/50). We may also choose to charge a monthly processing fee in the future but for anyone who signs up prior to that time, as a token of our appreciation for trying Oomble in its early stages, you will never be assessed such a monthly processing fee. Please visit our Oomblize section for more details on this.
I want to Oomblize my web page! Where can I find more information?
Great! We are excited that you are interested in Oomblizing your web site or page. You are on your way to monetizing your creativity! Please visit our
Oomblize section for content producers for more information.
What can I send to my phone with my Oomble user account?
Once you log in to your Oomble account, you will be able to drag and drop into your phone any image, audio or video that you see on any web site that you browse through Oomble’s Site Wrapper browser. Your cell phone will need support the image, audio or video file format so please double check
here to make sure that Oomble supports your cell phone (you will not be technically able to enroll, unless we support your cell phone, in any event). Please note, however, that the Site Wrapper technology currently does not support images, audio or video that is displayed through Adobe Flash Player or other similar types of embedded technologies.
Does Oomble sell ringtones and wallpapers?
Oomble does not sell its own ringtones and wallpapers. It does provide any other web site or page the ability to mobilize and sell its content through the Oomble platform.
Can I send content I find on the web to other people?
At this moment, you can only send content to yourself.
Can I try Oomble for free?
Yes! When you sign up for our free user account, you will also have access to all the pro-account functionality for a trial period of 60 days. After that 60 day period, you can continue to access the web-based functionality for pro account, but won’t be able to delivery anything to your cell phone until you upgrade to the pro-account.
How do I contact Oomble support?
Please email us at

BEFORE USING OOMBLE
Which web browsers does Oomble support?
Currently, Oomble only supports Internet Explorer, versions 5.5 and higher. We do apologize for this inconvenience. It is our number one priority to support other web browsers so please do check back with us for updates.
Is my carrier and/or phone model supported by Oomble?
Please check
here to see if Oomble supports your carrier and phone model. Unfortunately, users of pre-paid cell phones cannot be supported. If you don’t see your phone model or carrier, please email us at
support@oomble.com and we will do our best to support your phone.
What services and/or features does my cell phone need to have?
Your cell phone needs to have an Internet/WAP browser and an activated text-message data plan. Oomble’s services won’t work if you cannot receive SMS messages or browse the Internet through your cell phone’s browser. Please note that browsing the Internet through your cell phone’s browser requires a data plan.
Can I use Oomble outside the U.S.?
Sorry. Oomble is currently only supported in the United States.
Do I have to install anything on my computer?
There is nothing to install on your computer. However, Oomble does utilize an ActiveX control in your Internet Explorer browser, so please make sure that you install that control during your first use of the service.
What are the terms and conditions of my use of Oomble?
If you sign up for an Oomble user account, you will be asked to agree to Oomble’s User Agreement, a copy which is available
here.
OOMBLE ACCOUNT AND BILLING
How do I cancel my Oomble account?
You can just stop using your Oomble account. If you are on a power account, we do not auto-renew your account unless you specifically request that we do this. We don’t give refunds for power accounts, however, we are happy to transfer your power status to a friend for the remainder of your term. If you want us to formally terminate your account and remove your personal information from our records, please email us at cancellation@oomble.com. Please note that for data retention purposes, we may need to retain a record of your account for a period of time after a formal cancellation request, but we will remove your information from our normal records for active users.
How do I get charged when I purchased something on an Oomblized web site?
When you mobilize content on an Oomblized web site, we will send you an SMS message with a link to that content. If you go to that link on your WAP browser and then download the content, we will then charge you for that content (if there was a price associated with the content). That charge will appear on your monthly bill from your cell phone carrier. You will also get assessed your standard fees for the SMS message that we send to you as well as any data network charges used by your WAP browser.
How do I change my cell phone carrier, phone model or cell phone number?
Just go to your “My Account” link when you log into Oomble and change your information there.
How do I retrieve my password?
We don’t keep a copy of your password for security reasons (we store it as a one-way hash), so we can’t actually provide your password to you. We will send a link to the email that you registered with which will then allow you to provide a new password to your account. Click
here if you need to reset your password.
TROUBLESHOOTING
I just mobilized some content from an Oomblized site and I haven’t received anything on my phone.
Please confirm that your user profile on your Oomble account has up to date and accurate information regarding your cell phone carrier, phone make and model and phone number. Please also confirm that you have activated the capability to receive SMS messages and data services on your cell phone plan. If this is all confirmed, please be patient – sometimes the delivery of SMS messages can take longer than expected particular depending upon the time of day. If you still don’t get it, please try resending by pressing “Send to Phone” again. If that doesn’t work, try going directly to your personal Oomble WAP page on your WAP browser (go to m.oomble.com and log in) which should reflect your most recent mobilization activities.
I can’t drag a photo, audio or video I see on a web site!
Due to certain technical limitations, some photos, audio and video don’t work with Oomble. First and foremost, any content that is being presented through an Adobe Flash Player, unfortunately, won’t drag and drop. You’ll notice that through Oomble’s interface the “draggable” sign in the Oomble interface turns green when content on the web site you are viewing is draggable.
I received the SMS message, but I can’t go to the link in there.
Certain carriers (e.g., Verizon) do not allow you to go to a link through an SMS message. Please make sure that if you are on Verizon, you have indicated that in your Oomble profile (we need to send you a different type of message called a PIX or MMS message).
I am able to get to the link and access the content. How do I now save it to my phone?
Unfortunately, each phone is completely different when if comes to how to save things to your phone. Please consult your phone’s user guide or manufacturer’s online support.
How do I save an image as my wallpaper?
Unfortunately, each phone is completely different when if comes to how to set your wallpaper. Please consult your phone’s user guide or manufacturer’s online support.
How do I set an audio file as my ringtone?
Unfortunately, each phone is completely different when if comes to how to set a ringtone. Please consult your phone’s user guide or manufacturer’s online support.
